Expressiones announces New Board Chair

Expressiones Cultural Center is pleased to announce that the Expressiones board of directors elected Xanda McCagg as the new board chair.

Xanda McCagg is an American abstract painter based in New York City, NY and Stonington, Connecticut. Her paintings have been shown in individual and selected group exhibitions in the United States and Europe.

Xanda’s work is represented in many private and corporate collections including Alliance Capital Management in New York City and Posternak Blankstein & Lund LLP in Boston. Her first museum show will take place in early 2021 at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum as part of the Near :: New Series.

She earned her BFA in Art Education from Boston University and has a background in teaching art with children grades K-12 and adults. Over the years she has furthered her education and learning through participation in numerous fellowships and residencies in the US and Europe.

As an extension of her studio practice, in 2006 Xanda established “Art introductions”, art tours with a social twist and in 2014 launched “Xanda McCagg Projects“ as a forum for curating exhibitions and hosting events that give voice and space to a wide range of artists emerging and established.

She presently serves as a board member of Expressiones, as well as on board of  the Mystic Museum of Art.

Xanda is honored to have the opportunity to serve as Chair of the Expressiones board.  She brings with her a passion for art, teaching and connecting people and communities through the arts.
