Drypoint is traditionally a metal engraving technique; in this workshop, participants will explore a variation of the process using plastic plates. The workshop is designed for people with no previous printmaking experience. Participants will experiment with the technique in a playful and spontaneous way, exploring its different tonal possibilities.
Each session begins with a brief demonstration by the artist/instructor to introduce and inspire the students. Participants then engage in hands-on activities in which they experiment with new materials and tools, practice creative thinking, and build confidence through the progressive mastery of tools, inks, and the different stages involved in creating a print using this fascinating technique.
By the end of the course, each participant will have completed three to four works exploring the proposed variations and will take part in an exhibition of the work produced during the workshop.
