We are bringing back one of our favorite hands-on workshops. Join Chilean artist Indira Urrutia for an afternoon exploring wire knitting through a traditional Mexican looping technique. Using wire almost as if it were thread, participants will learn how repeated loops can slowly become a flexible, textile-like structure.
Indira will guide participants through the technique step by step while also sharing its cultural roots and the ways she has incorporated textile traditions, metal, memory, and identity into her own artistic practice.
Each participant will create a hand-knitted wire bracelet to take home. No previous experience is necessary. This is a workshop for anyone who enjoys making things by hand, learning a new technique, and discovering how traditional processes can find new life in contemporary art.
