Description

Woodcut is one of the oldest printmaking processes. This workshop introduces participants to the rich world of woodblock printing and its different graphic possibilities. It is designed for people with no previous printmaking experience. Participants will explore the fundamentals of woodcut in a playful and spontaneous way through different approaches, including black-and-white printing, color printing, reduction woodcut, and other ways of working with the woodblock.

Each session begins with a brief demonstration by the artist/instructor to introduce and inspire the students. Participants then engage in hands-on activities in which they experiment with new materials, practice creative thinking, and gain confidence through the progressive mastery of carving tools, inks, and the different stages involved in creating a woodcut print.

By the end of the course, each participant will have completed three to four works exploring the proposed variations and will take part in an exhibition of the work produced during the workshop.
