“Two Journeys, One Story: A Night of Visual Storytelling with Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors” Current Exhibit at Expressiones: Spring 2025 Artists-in-Residence Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors Expressiones proudly presents the Spring 2025 Artists-in-Residence, Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors. This exhibit showcases their powerful stories through photographs, installations, and spoken narratives—stories born of migration, resilience, and connection. Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors bring deeply moving insights into the human experience. Marc’s five-year, 15-country bicycle journey through the Americas and Indira’s multidisciplinary reflections on displacement, healing, and labor offer unique perspectives. Moderated by Guido Garaycochea, the evening will feature an artist talk, audience Q&A, and an opportunity to explore their work up close. Common Artist Statement “Two Journeys, One Story: A Night of Visual Storytelling with Indira Urrutia and Marc Hors” unites the deeply personal and socially engaged practices of these artists. Their work explores the intersecting landscapes of migration, memory, identity, and resilience. Though distinct in medium and approach, both artists are committed to storytelling as a means of human connection. Marc Hors traverses continents on two wheels, capturing intimate moments that reflect the shared humanity of those he encounters across the Americas. Indira Urrutia builds tactile, meditative installations rooted in her own migratory experiences and the voices of the communities she engages. Together, their work invites reflection on the journeys—both physical and emotional—that shape who we are. Through photography, textile, oral histories, and immersive installations, this exhibition becomes a space of encounter: a place where past and present, self and other, land and displacement converge. This residency at Expressiones is not just a site of creation but of transformation—a laboratory for empathy, cultural dialogue, and the slow unraveling of what it means to belong.
